College Heights

The first homes here were built in the late 1880’s as the young college next door began to grow, and additional building spurts occurred in the 1920’s and 1940’s. Mature trees shade the homes here, which include colonial revival, Tudor revival and bungalow/craftsman styles.  North Atherton Street divides the area into West College Heights and East College Heights, which has more rental homes.  Now a National Register Historic District, the neighborhood is also home to Radio Park Elementary School and Sunset Park, and the Penn State Arboretum borders the eastern edge.
